Court Wyckoff – A Champion For Prosser

The Prosser Clubhouse has a long waiting list.

Hundreds of Prosser families have hoped for the opportunity to participate in the Boys & Girls Club. Hundreds of youth have been turned away due to the Clubhouse’s limited capacity.

Court Wyckoff intends to change that.

“While Prosser is undoubtedly fortunate to have the Club,” Court said, “we have fallen short as a community, as we have not provided resources to expand the Club to support enrolling as many youth as possible.”

As a Prosser community member and business leader, Court has seen how the Prosser Clubhouse has positively impacted the community, particularly the youth, since it opened in 2010.

He described the Boys & Girls Club as “a rewarding place outside of school and home for youth to grow positively as individuals.”

When he first became involved in the Campaign for the new Prosser Clubhouse, Court had planned for a financial donation to be the extent of his participation. However, the project’s goals resonated with him, and when he was asked to chair the Campaign, Court accepted.

“The most important outcome of this Campaign for me, and the reason why I became involved,” he explained, “was the need for us to dramatically increase the number of youth who could participate in the Prosser Boys & Girls Club.”

For too long, the needs of the Prosser community have surpassed the Clubhouse’s available space. Every youth unable to attend the Club misses out on the life-changing opportunities the Club provides.

“The Club could be the spark that changes their entire life,” Court said. “Those little moments of being able to have access to youth who need a positive force in their life can be so transformative. As a community, we can potentially change the course of a child’s life for the positive. I think that’s something we’re all so blessed to have the opportunity to do.”

The new Prosser Clubhouse will be able to welcome more youth and remove families from the waiting list, but that’s not the only improvement the Clubhouse will see.

Court also emphasized the importance of providing youth with well-kept facilities.

“While the Club has done an admirable job with the physical spaces provided, these buildings do not affirm the dignity of the youth the Prosser Club serves. We can and should do better as a community to provide appropriate resources for our youth.”

Regarding the new Clubhouse, Court said, “The facilities will be like-new and affirm the dignity of those it will welcome through its doors.”

Court has led the way for transformative change in Prosser. Thanks to Court’s leadership and generosity, as well as the generosity of the Prosser community, more local youth will be able to attend the Boys & Girls Club, and the youth who do attend will have an even better Club experience.

“We are a proud community, proud of our location, heritage, and resiliency, and the Campaign gives us all the opportunity to recognize and cherish Prosser.”
